Tim lives with his wife, Ashley, in Portland, Oregon with their four kids Errol, Veyda, Clover, and Merrick. He chairs the board of the Johnson Creek Watershed Council and the finance council of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, and donates a significant amount of his practice to pro bono work. He has volunteered at home and abroad in support of the environment, equity and inclusion, and civil rights.
